Motorbikes in London Bus Lanes in doubt again!

Apparently following a petition from the London Cycling Campaign with over 3,500 names asking Borris Johnson to reverse his decision to allow motorcycles in London Bus Lanes, the Mayor appears to now be wobbling on his previous decision.

The BMF have now thrown their weight behind the MCN petition asking London’s Mayor Boris Johnson to honour his commitment to allow motorcycles into bus lanes.

The MCN petition has currently attracted over 3,100 signatures but more are needed if we are to influence the Mayor say the BMF.

Bikes in London Bus Lanes at last!

The BMF has welcomed the announcement that the new Mayor of London Borris Johnson has given the OK to allowing motorbikes in bus lanes in London. Boris Johnson confirmed that TfL [Transport for London] are happy to go ahead with this. So finally common sense prevails. So its a big thank you to Borris and the BMF!

BMF pushes Borris on bikes in bus lanes!

The BMF have written to new London Mayor, Borris Johnson, asking now when bikes will be allowed in bus lanes across the whole of London.

This follows on from meetings in February between the BMF and Borris Johnson and his team when Borris said that: “Allowing motorcycles into bus lanes would ease congestion and increase traffic speed… I want to encourage people to get out of their cars and use other forms of transport but we must make it easier for them to do so. I want to get London moving and this is one of a raft of initiatives that I will take.”

Lets hope with Borris at the helm this will now finally happen.
