Bikes In London’s Bus Lanes - still hopeful say BMF
Yesterday the BMF published a press release which suggested that not all is lost and that bikes still may be able to use London lanes.
The BMF Senior Government Relations Executive Trevor Magner said:
"we’re pleased that TfL now appears to be addressing the concerns of the motorcycling community and we hope that the review may result in a more positive outcome for motorcycling.”

No freeze on motorcycle speeding fines!!!
Government response to 'Speeding Fines' petition
I've just published on www.inter-bike.co.uk the governments response to the petition calling for a freeze on motorcycle speeding fines until until such time that the Government tests and approves all speed detection equipment for use specifically on motorcycles.
It will come as no surprise to all motorcyclists out there that the governments response is "NO". So although type approved speed detection equipment is not tested on motorcycles the governments position is its OK to use them on motorcycles!!!
Amazing how an something can be untested but OK to use, a motorcycle is not a car and its shape and profile are entirely different.
I as motorcyclist would want to be happy that the speed detection equipment used, actually accurately records the speed of a motorcycle, before its readings were used as evidence to convict for speeding.
What do you think?

Triumph sales up by 18%!!!
Triumph Motorcycles’ sales grow by 18% in the 2006 Financial Year
Yesterday the Triumph Group announced that Triumph Group turnover rose by 13% for the year ending 30th June 2006. Sales of Triumph motorcycles increased by 18% from 31,600 units to 37,400 units.
So this famous British motorcycling marque goes from strength to strenght and apparently the launch of the 2006 Daytona 675 supersports bike and the Triumph Scrambler have both helped increase Triumph's sales.
So well done to Triumph for their continuing sales success!
