Best in Show - BMF Kelso Bikefest

The weekend of the 16th & 17th July saw the annual BMF Kelso Bikefest.

Best in Show bike was won by Paul Niven from Galashiels for his stunning all-black Harley engined special.

Don't forget the next BMF event is the Tail End Show, East of England Showground Peterborough 20th-21st September.

Dougie Lampkin struts his stuff at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

Market Consolidation - MV Agusta bought!

Yesterday Harley-Davidson announced it had reached agreement to purchase the MV Agusta Group, makers of exotic Italian sportsbikes and also owners of the Cagiva brand.

A strange fit I'm sure some will think, but further signs of consolidation in the global motorcycle market. With MZ's imment demise at the end of this year as well, the choice for motorcyclists lessens.

It of course remains to be seen where Harley-Davidson will take the historic MV Agusta brand, they claim the aqusition is to extend Harley-Davidson's presence in Europe?

National Motorcycle Week 13th - 19th July 2008

Don't forget its National Motorcycle Week, next weekin the UK. Do your bit to help promote the positive benefits of motorcycling to a wider audience.

Within that week its Ride to Work Day on 16th July, which is the day when all bike and scooter owners are encouraged to ride to work.
